This New York Central Railway Signal Tower was originally located at Sterling Station. It includes railway exhibits, sound effects, and 88 feet of railway track with hand-pump car ride you can operate yourself.
Our new exhibit building was dedicated on July 25, 2011 and now contains our Blacksmith Shop and Cooper’s Shop as well as new displays.
Here is the latest project: Restoration of this authentic railway caboose. Joe and Loretta Ukleya donated this to our Historical Society in loving memory of their daughter Marcia Built in 1917, the caboose used to operate on the Hojack line between Rochester and Oswego. As such, it likely ran on an off line through Sterling.
